RadiusCar

RadiusCar is a brand new product that runs on PDAs with PocketPC 2002 and newer systems. RadiusCar is the successor of a similar program called RadiusFuel. Of course, RadiusCar is backward compatible with RadiusFuel, so nobody loses data that was already collected.

Why Should RadiusCar Exist?

Anybody who ever used RadiusFuel will surely understand the motivation of why there should be a better product. The others must be satisfied with the knowledge that RadiusFuel was a simple application for the management of fuel expenses - and nothing else.

The following list shows the main features planned to be implemented in RadiusCar. Each item stands for exactly one feature and provides a link to the detailed specification.

The Mission

RadiusCar will carry out several main tasks. Once finished (if ever) RadiusCar wants:

• to keep track of general car statistics:
  • fuel consumption
  • fuel prices
  • distance travelled
  • costs (fuel and overall)

• to show nice graphs of some statistical values

• to be optically pleasant :)

• to allow user to export all data into csv for possible future usage in other programs.

• to be usable by users in different countries with different measurement systems

The idea is that RadiusCar should be mainly a fuel consumption oriented program with good graphics. General costs tracking and reminders will be considered as add-ons.

Mission Impossible

If a user wants to have sophisticated analysis of car costs, he or she can use any of a wide range of financial programs for (P)PC. There are financial programs, which do it better, allowing users to store and analyze all the expenses, while giving the ability to extract the specific car costs. There is no need for RadiusCar to compete with such programs - at least for now ;-).
